Earlier switches run CATOS
There is a difference between set base CLIs [CAT 4K] and normal CLIs
commands [2960]
For 2960
Vlan 10
Name engineering
Interface x/x
Switchportt access vlan 10
Or for trunk / Access
Switchport mode access / trunk
For CAT 4K
Run borth cmd from enable mode
Set vlan 10 name engineering
Set vlan 10 x/x // where x/x is your interface number like fas0/1
Set vlan 10 x/a-b // x is module name and a - b is port range
By default, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet ports are in auto mode. If
the port on the other end of the link is in desirable mode or on, a port in
auto mode automatically becomes a trunk port.
set trunk x/x desirable dot1q
set trunk x/x dot1q
verify it by "show trunk"
