That's odd, the NPE-300s and 400s I have are keyed to prevent insertion
in a non-VXR chassis.

225 is the last "supported" version
300 will "work" depending on ios version. It is not supported by cisco and
12.1 and
above don't let you boot with a 300 in it 12.0 will.
