Does that device support the FORMAT command to redo the NVRAM?

The issue is that i can start the router and the IOS is loaded successfully
when i type anything and save it such as a hostname or interface description
and reload the router i find the router back to scratch which means that there
is no configuration file saved

I am guessing you are in ROM MON mode and need to get the IOS loaded and then
the config.

I believe you need to do...

boot system flash (any sub device goes here)

The current IOS is c2600-advipservicesk9-mz.124-18e.bin

i tried more than one IOS image and i am not able to find the right image
because when i issue the command boot , see the output below
Router(config)#boot ?
  bootstrap Bootstrap image file
  host Router-specific config file
  network Network-wide config file
  system System image file

Thanks

It is supposed to work...
Did you issue the following command?

boot config disk0:startup-config nvbypass

Which version are you using?

Assunto: [c-nsp] Load Configuration From Flash

hi all
i have Cisco 2621XM
the NVRAM is corrupted and i want to load the configuration file from flash
i looked for the command boot config
but i cannot find the appropriate image for the router to do this

Thanks

It seems likely that your Config Register setting is set to ignore the NVRAM config. Check your "show version" output and make sure that the config_reg shows something like :

rtr-2>sh ver
Cisco IOS Software, 7200 Software ...
...
Configuration register is 0x2102

Cheers,
Christopher Hunt
