How big is the circuit that is in between your MUXes? GRE tunnel adds 24 bytes of packet overhead (GRE packet tax) so if you have a small circuit you may have bandwidth issues. You need to think about how many packets you will be pushing across this circuit x 24 bytes/packet it all adds up compared to an event driven solution (Cisco EEM).
