Hi Osama, One thing you will need to know is that it takes about 45 minutes to load the new IOS-XR from IOS. Once this is complete, you will need to write a new config. Not something that is practical if you are upgrading a production router. If you are upgrading one that is not currently in production yet, then the learning process and configuration is fairly easy to pick up for the most part.
Cisco has a PDF on how to upgrade from IOS and how to revert back to IOS that is easy to follow. A search for IOS to XR upgrade should get you what you need. -Lee On Fri, Jul 22, 2011 at 12:18 AM, mohamed Osama Saad Abo sree < [email protected]> wrote: > Dear all, > > I need some help with this,Let's assume that i'm new to IOS-XR,dealing with > GSR and CRS. > I need to know the best source or the best technquie to understand, learn > IOS-XR and be professional in dealing with like normal IOS :) > Also i would appreciate if some one can send me the steps to how to upgrade > from normal IOS to IOS-XR on GSR. > > Thanks, > Osama > _______________________________________________ > cisco-nsp mailing list [email protected] > https://puck.nether.net/mailman/listinfo/cisco-nsp > archive at http://puck.nether.net/pipermail/cisco-nsp/ > _______________________________________________ cisco-nsp mailing list [email protected] https://puck.nether.net/mailman/listinfo/cisco-nsp archive at http://puck.nether.net/pipermail/cisco-nsp/
