Hi all,
Can someone help to explain the following error message :
Oct 15 14:39:14.024: %SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION: Te2/0/1: Rx power high
warning; Operating value
: -1.8 dBm, Threshold value: -2.0 dBm.
Does the message suggest a faulty optic?. Thanks in advance.
That message is saying that your optical receive level is too high for that optic. If you are running a long reach optic over a short distance, that will happen. You can either swap out for shorter distance optics, or you can use an optical attenuator to reduce the signal on the receiver side.
