...apologies....missed CC'ing the list:
Cheers Nic - This is for patching between kit in the same rack(sub 2meter patches)...if that makes any difference. What levels should I be concerned about? After a bit of digging, found this command for ASR1001: show hw-module subslot 0/0 transceiver 0 status Seeing: Tx power -6.0 dBm RX optical power -6.3dBm This port is connected to an ME3600, with a "ZX" SFP also. ________________________________________ From: Nick Hilliard <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, 6 July 2015 7:07 PM To: CiscoNSP List; [email protected] Subject: Re: [c-nsp] SFPs (Third party) - ordered "standard" LH, but got "ZX" On 06/07/2015 09:50, CiscoNSP List wrote: > As per title....ordered a bunch of our usual single mode SFP's. and they > are badged as LH, but when inserted into router/switch, they report as > ZX.....can I connect our LH to the new ZX ones (I dont have a > router/switch handy to test), and have to ship them interstate.....but > obviously dont want to if they are no compatible with our existing LH > SFP's they'll interoperate, yes. Both transceiver types have wide-band receivers. Just be careful about tx/rx levels on each side: if your RX levels are outside recommended parameters, you may end up damaging the transceiver.
