Hi. The 48x10GE is a Tomahawk based linecard using A9K-NP300-LC and thus needs V2 fan trays. These linecards also require both fantrays to be UP to boot. I had this issue when trying to install a 4x100GE LC, even though the hardware installation guide only mentions this for the 8x100GE card. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/iosxr/asr9000/hardware-install/ethernet-line-card-installation-guide/b-asr9k-ethernt-line-card-install-guide/b-asr9k-ethernt-line-card-install-guide_chapter_00.html
You will most likely get an error message similar to this shelfmgr[416]: %PLATFORM-SHELFMGR-3-INCOMPATIBLE_FT_FOR_LC : All the Fantrays must be V2 in order to provide cooling for the A9K-NP300-LC. The v1 chassis nor power modules should not be a problem, but it could be an issue with the old fans. Do not find any good information regarding the fans, but try to reach out to your account team and they will help you out. And you need to run XR 6.2.1 or later. /Ted -----Original Message----- From: cisco-nsp [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Ted Pelas Johansson Sent: den 21 november 2017 10:43 To: Dmitry Kiselev <[email protected]>; [email protected] Subject: Re: [c-nsp] ASR9000 HW compatibility [This sender failed our fraud detection checks and may not be who they appear to be. Could any on the list advice me are new 48-ports 10G line cards (A9K-48x10GE) can run inside old ASR9010 v01 chassis with old v01 power modules and fans? Assuming power budget is enough and XR has already updated. I've already checked cisco and live! sites but found no any hints. :( Thanks in advance -- Dmitry Kiselev _______________________________________________ cisco-nsp mailing list [email protected] https://puck.nether.net/mailman/listinfo/cisco-nsp archive at http://puck.nether.net/pipermail/cisco-nsp/ ******** IMPORTANT NOTICE ******** The content of this e-mail is intended for the addressee(s) only and may contain information that is confidential and/or otherwise protected from disclosure.
