So, we discovered that if you power up a 9971 with external power (injector)
and connect it to the switching, it doesn't honor the Cisco voice VLAN, and
jumps on the "access vlan" of the port instead. Meaning, it does a DHCP and
gets our standard user data network of 10.20.164.0/23 instead of the endpoint
segment of 10.20.170.0/24

The switch still identifies the phone as a Cisco IP Phone:

Sep 27 14:54:36 MDT: %SWITCH_QOS_TB-5-TRUST_DEVICE_DETECTED: cisco-phone
detected on port Gi1/0/9, port's configured trust state is now operational.

However, if you let it draw PoE, it boots normally and places the phone on the
voice VLAN and the PC on the data VLAN.

Is there something misconfigured in the switching? Why would the phone not
jump on the voice VLAN regardless of power source?

Phone load is sip9971.9-3-1-33

I have determined that the route filter seems to be the cause of the issue.

If I specify a route pattern as

901768@

and have the route filter set the call fails.

Without the route filter it connects.

Very very odd.

CCM 7.x
2811 Voice gateway.

A few weeks ago a member of staff alerted me to the fact that they could not
call a supplier, I checked the number and sure enough the phone system dialled
and we got a recorded message from the carrier ( BT UK ) of number not
recognised.

After a bunch of tests with our line provider we could not find a fault with
their call routing ( at least so far )

What I have noticed is something that seems very bazar

With no special routing implemented on the call manager the voice gateway tries
to dial and gets the number not recognised. The output of ?show voice call?
shows the following with the correct number.

==============================================================
0/0/0:15 13
      vtsp level 0 state = S_SETUP_PROGRESS
callid 0xBAEE B13 state S_TSP_OUTCALL_PROG clld 01768776000 cllg 6563
==============================================================

If I add a CCM route pattern for 901768776000, the line rings and the progress
display shows the correct number.

in both instances ?Show Call? show the right number , but one fails?

This is driving me crazy, anybody have any bright ideas other than sticking in
a route pattern for the whole number set?

Have you tried rebooting? Prior to 8.x there were numerous dial-forest
corruption issues related to route filters, where the only fix was a cluster
reboot.

Not done a re-boot as yet.

I just find it increasingly odd that the number presented on the 2811 looks

I have determined that the route filter seems to be the cause of the issue.

If I specify a route pattern as

901768@

and have the route filter set the call fails.

Without the route filter it connects.

Very very odd.

How about asking the carrier.
Can they answer why one works and the other fails ?

Perhaps ToN is required and you haven't configured that on the RL/RP?

==============================================================
0/0/0:15 13
      vtsp level 0 state = S_SETUP_PROGRESS
callid 0xBAEE B13 state S_TSP_OUTCALL_PROG clld 01768776000 cllg 6563
==============================================================

If I add a CCM route pattern for 901768776000, the line rings and the progress
display shows the correct number.

==============================================================
0/0/0:15 13
      vtsp level 0 state = S_SETUP_REQ_PROC
callid 0xBAEE B13 state S_TSP_OUTCALL_PROG clld 01768776000 cllg 6563
============================================================

in both instances ?Show Call? show the right number , but one fails?

This is driving me crazy, anybody have any bright ideas other than sticking in
a route pattern for the whole number set?

Rob

debug isdn q931 would be more interesting, though the circuit protocol (nor
IP) were stated.

My first guess is the called party type (International, national, etc).
Default is for callmanager to choose.

Check the difference in messaging between working and not working.

Is there any way in UC 8.5 that a user can delete all VM at one time? Is
the only easy way to delete the VM box and then recreate it? Lelio, don't
you deal with this every term?

Thanks

the easiest way is to delete the mailbox and recreate. that's if it's for just
one person. but then you have to recreate the configuration, etc. if this is
for a person transitioning into an existing role, it could be the better
option.

if the person just wants to clean things up, then another option is to have
them log into PCA. select all and delete.

another option is to use bulk user delete (reset option). it's available on
ciscounitytools.com it works like a charm and can be used on one user or many.
