I am running 8.6 and my new boss wants to have all log files copied to logging
server. Is there a way to do this?

I'm going to make the assumption that you're referring to CDR (call history)
logging; this can be done by configuring a "Billing Application Server" and
configuring a remote destination. This is done via Unified Serviceability =>
Tools => CDR Management.

Otherwise, you can also configure a remote syslog server for specific services
under Unified Serviceablity => Alarm => Configuration => drill down to the
specific server / services as needed.

If you're looking for other types of logging, please provide more detail.

he is wanting all the log files, like when you goto RTMT and get all the log
files.

Hi Roger,

UCCX 10.0 will release with UC system release 10.0 currently scheduled for the
fall. Standard disclaimers about schedule slipping and features being in/out

Hi Jason,

It is on the roadmap, but the plan is to address it holistically by supporting
+E.164 for both Agent DN, CTI Route Point/Port DN, External Phone Number Mask

individual components.

I believe this is on the roadmap for the 10.0 release, but it may be a stretch
goal, but a lot of it depends on when Finesse will support +E.164 as we will
not be building support for this into CAD.

I can?t add a E164 trigger or CTI Route Point in appadmin? I can override it
in ccmadmin, but first time a Appadmin Data Sync occurs they will break

Is there a roadmap to be able to put full E164 in Appadmin Triggers/CTI Ports?

I've never heard of anyone running 24/7 trace logging ala RTMT, and I would be
very weary of performance issues, unless it was limited to few services. Even
then, this sounds like a terrible. In many years of troubleshooting with TAC,
I've never used or seen this approach used.

That being said, this is obviously not something I'm familiar with; perhaps
someone else can contribute some useful information.

Check out this document: https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-8130. I
think this is what you're looking for.

You can try scheduled trace collection to a SFTP server :)
But need to consider performance , resources etc...

Is it possible to use the corporate directory to dial something other
than an extension? If I wanted to have the corporate directory call an

Hot line device is new to me.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/9_1_1/ccmcfg/CUCM_BK_A34970C5_00_admin-guide-91_chapter_01000111.html

This VG224 has all its ports connected to Emergency Call boxes. If I make all
the ports a Hot Line Device and want it to go out our SIP trunk to 911
(similar to connection plar 911) is there something else I need to do?

Like where do I tell the hotline device to dial 911? The CCM online help for
Hotline device checkbox isn't clear.

Hotline Device

Check this check box to make this device a Hotline device. Hotline devices can
only connect to other Hotline devices. This feature is an extension of PLAR,
which configures a phone to automatically dial one directory number when it
goes off-hook. Hotline provides additional restrictions that you can apply to
devices that use PLAR.

To implement Hotline, you must also create a softkey template without
supplementary service softkeys, and apply it to the Hotline device.

Based on that description, I don't think Hotline is what you want. Hotline
seems to add restrictions as to what the device can connect to (as it mentions
that they can only connect to other hotline devices).

I have my VG224 lines that auto-dial setup as SCCP ports, with a Translation
Pattern (with no number in the pattern) set to dial the appropriate extension.

Hot line device is new to me.

That is my old-school backup plan. I thought I stumbled upon something new in
9.1. But it appears it's a Mystery feature.

Yes if you use the Corporate Directory SDK you can do some custom stuff.

It appears this is something related to Defense Switched Network (DSN). I
think the Joint Chiefs suggest I go back to the old school blank Translation
Pattern/CSS method for PLAR to 911 on MGCP.

You can pretty much put anything in the telephone number field for the
directory. Now, if you want both an internal and external number, that?s where
you have to get creative.

I put the number in there that should match up with a dial pattern, but
all it does is just sit and do nothing. I end up with a busy signal. I
checked the session trace in RTMT and its picking the right gateway.
There is no termination code.. how odd.

I have a need to use the PSTN as a secondary method to reach our
international offices.

I have my route group set up wioth the SIP trunk first and the PRIs are
second, third , fourth and fifth.

I use top down distribution. Are there any other settings I need to make
sure that the calls don't fail when the SIP trunk is unavailable for any
reason?

Thanks!

Depending on the version of CM that you're using, you may want to
check "SIP PING".
