The jabber user id is the same as the one you use in CUCM. I’ve only ever synced with sAMAccountName, so I’m not sure of the implications of using another field as the user id. I recommend you look at the recent 10.5 release of Jabber and the CUCM/IM&P and the use of SSO. If that works with telephone number as the CUCM user id, you’d be able to keep the simplified logins for EM and make Jabber login automatically.

The main reason behind the push for LDAP integration is to deploy Cisco Jabber for everyone and I was thinking to use domain ID to login to jabber. The number of users is not big (~500). This was done because at the time of install the domain infrastructure (Microsoft AD) was not ready. The user id filed in CUCM is the IP Phone DN and all users (including Call Center agents) are using Extension Mobility. In AD the username is the same as email ID. What will be the best way to integrate CUCM with AD for LDAP sync and authentication? best regards, Abebe
