I have a 2509 on a cable modem.

My address so far is static so I don't have to worry yet.

For your DHCP, you will just have to check what your address is now and then and configure the router accordingly and let your buddy know when it changes.  Which will be a b%#@ cause you would have to put a DHCP client on the net to get the address and then reconnect the router and then configure the router.

If you want to try and reduce that rigamarole (sp?), attach a linux box to the DSL and have two nics.

The outside nic gets the DHCP, the inside gets a static internal IP.

Your buddy telnets to the linux box and then to the router.

But you still have to tell buddy the new linux IP but you won't have to fool with the router and connect/reconnect to the DSL network.

Might be other ways.

Subject: How to? Suggestions

Problem: I would like to share my home lab with my study partner via the internet.

Setup: 1. I have DSL with a dynamic IP.
           2. I have a 2511 that is connected to all routers via reverse telnet.

Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

Nathan
