Not necessarily, if all relevant providers agree.
No questions that this doesn't get complex.

A 2500 can't hold a full routing table, but it certainly can work 
with partial routes.

There's the broader question of precisely what multihoming is 
intended to protect against in the specific situation.  BGP 
multihoming helps some things, while local loop diversity, upstream 
physical diversity, local loop load sharing, DNS, etc., all have 
roles.
