Hi, are you sure that the image that crashes and the one that then boots up properly is the same one? Isn't it possible that you have two images, and the second one is booted up after the booting of the first failed?
A full boot-log would help to answer these questions. If you indeed have two images, then simply make sure that the boot variable points to it (see 'boot system flash' command).
