Edge switch w/out LANE capability (Cat4000). Can I connect it to a 5500
(via ISL or dot1q trunking) that already has LANE trunking set up. This
would allow the edge switch to participate in VTP and communicate w/ the
rest of the network w/out having to be a LANE client.
I'm not sure a switch can have 2 trunks. But can it have 2 trunks w/ 2
different trunking protocols??? One ISL trunk w/ one LANE trunk??
Anybody have this kind of setup? Done this in the lab? Seen literature
that says it can work? I've looked all over Cisco's website and it shows
all kinds of diagrams w/ this exact scenario, but never says in the
documentation that a switch can have 2 functioning trunks???
Thanks in advance.
