You can't force them to do it at a specific time, but you can deactivate the
scope so that when their IP expires they get a new one.
Alternately, you can include the following chunk in their login script. (not
tested under win2k)
--Begin Chunk--
if not exist c:\renewed.bat
echo @echo off > c:\renew.bat
echo ipconfig /release >> c:\renew.bat
echo ipconfig /renew >> c:\renew.bat
call c:\renew.bat
ren c:\renew.bat c:\renewed.bat
--Begin Chunk--
You have to put in the whole chunk like that because of the way a batch file
is executed. If you just put ipconfig/release, and then ipconfig/renew in
the Login script, they will lose their connection to the network and never
execute the ipconfig/renew.
Good Luck,

Subject: OT: DHCP question [7:5745]
Greetings all,
For those with pretty good DHCP knowledge, how can I force a user to renew
his IP address/lease from the DHCP server?
Running Linux with ISC DHCP server
Thanks,
Nabil
