I remember amazon having a flat rate for shipping.  Considering the time it
takes to receive the books(buyer 1 to 2 days from Amazon, and a week or more
from bookpool), and the hassle free return policy, I think they can be
competitve, at least for me.  If they weren't, they would be out of business
by now.  B&N isn't that bad if you can find coupons to use.

Most of my books came from half.com anyway.  Of course, I didn't even care
when I use to be reimbursed for books.  Those were the days.

www.addall.com - seems to be the best place to check. They include the price

shipping. Amazon seldom proves to be the cheapest.

I've used them occasionally because the shipping was reasonable(and cheaper
then BP)  and the books arrived faster to CA.

I continue to be amazed at what Amazon calls "discounts".  the last few
times I've checked, Bookpool has had the best deals, with book in stock (
some other places claim lower prices, but they always seem to be
backordered )
