Ole I have the pdf Technical reference document from Paradyne's website available and it indicates that the interface is a EIA-530a.
>From the tech reference: EIA-530A Port 1 or 2 Interface Cable The following table shows the EIA-530A circuit and pin assignments that are supported for a port connector/interface ( Port 1 or Port 2). I'm making the assumption that EIA-530 and RS-530 are one in the same...but you know what happens when one assumes :-) Anyway I'm relatively sure that the CAB-530MT cable will work, but I was hoping for solid confirmation from someone out there actually using the CAB-530MT in lieu of the CAB-V35MT/Adapter or pigtail cable, either in a lab environment or in production. BTW: RS-323 ??? Is that a RS-232 mistype! [7:31427] I am not an expert in your CSU, but you want to be absolute sure about what the 25 pin interface on it is. It could be either RS-323 or RS-530, and the two cables are not wired the same. [7:31427] I just picked up a Paradyne 9120 Framsaver CSU and while researching the cable I need to connect to a router I came across a possible alternate cable I wasn't aware of. The CSU came with a v.35 adapter (I was actually expecting a pigtail) but the adapter will work just fine, so I know that the CAB-V35MT "MALE DTE V35 10 FT" cable is the one I would normally use with the adapter. What I wasn't aware of is the CAB-530MT "MALE DTE RS-530 10 FT" cable which appears to allow me to connect directly to the CSU's 25 pin Port#1 or Port#2 connection and forego the v.35 adapter! Can anyone confirm my suspicions that the CAB-530MT will work for this application? The way I figure, the more pieces I can eliminate, the easier it becomes to troubleshoot if problems arise! -Stefan Message Posted at: http://www.groupstudy.com/form/read.php?f=7&i=31462&t=31427 -------------------------------------------------- FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
