If money were not an issue, I would purchase the new WS-C3550-48-EMI @ $7790
list with a street price of about $5800. This switch has full HW based IP &
multicast routing, supports all the major routing protocols, is only 1U high
and has two GBIC slots.

Subject: What would you choose, 2948 or 3548? [7:37737]

If money was not an issue, which 48 port Cisco switch would you implement
for general purpose (branch offices, access switch connecting to
distribution layer, etc.)

The main differences of course are that the 2948 is set based and the 3548
is IOS based, and the switch fabric for the 2948 (24 Gbps vs 10 Gbps) is
higher than for the 3548?

Any thoughts on this? Thanks.
