Hi, group.
I just have a simple question regarding setting the Port ID
manually on a switch. The Port ID is is indicated by a 6-bit
field for Priority plus the 10-bit field for the Port number. The
default values for the priority are 32 for CLI-based and 128 for IOS-based
switches.
So my question is...
for IOS-based switches, how can 6 bits give you a default value of 128 and a
usable range from 0 - 255?
Please tell me what I'm missing.
