I imagine it may depend on the switch. On the 3500's (or I guess any switch
with IOS), you can specify the bandwidth command on any interface, but I've
never tried it and don't know how well it works.
SWITCH1(config)#int fast 0/13
SWITCH1(config-if)#bandwidth ?
