Several sources I have come across say the way to abort an extended ping is ctrl-shift-6 followed by an x. Every time I have tested this, the ping is aborted after just the ctrl-shift-6. The x isn't necessary. I'm wondering why several books say to include the x and if that's the way cisco wants you to answer on a test. Can anyone shed some light? thanks, Aaron
