All, We've broken 6,000 articles! I'd like to see us do the next 2,000 in three months and the 2,000 after that in two months. Let's aim for 10,000 articles by September 1. I think this is possible, especially with upcoming changes.
Ongoing thanks for your help. I get the sense that things are going to start change in big ways in the project in the next few months. A semi-independent new project is going to open important new doors for the encyclopedia project. Also, I'm getting closer to the point where I can feel comfortable doing a concerted workgroup-based recruitment effort. And, thanks to ongoing significant contributions to a certain benefactor, we're going to start spending money on important and (I think) effective software enhancements soon. (My work for the project is still unpaid, by the way--not that I *like* that situation.) There are other important changes coming up, such as the ability of authors to nominate articles for approval. This could really give the approval process a much-needed kick in the pants. But, so I have the energy actually to make all this happen, I need a break! I've been looking at my recent mail and to do list, and I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed. But I think that's mainly because I haven't really had much of a break (the trip to the zoo with a toddler can't really be called a "break," can it?) in a week; from Wednesday through Saturday I was in New York City, and that was exhausting. SO, I'm going to take a few days off...I'll be back fresh, I hope, on Wednesday. --Larry _______________________________________________ Citizendium-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.purdue.edu/mailman/listinfo/citizendium-l
