WHAT forums? tom In a message dated 4/17/2010 9:07:58 P.M. Central Daylight
Time, [email protected] writes: It's my impression, as a Constable, that
this list is NOT supposed to be used for general purposes of discussion. Even
Larry, I believe, has only used it *very* sparingly over the years, and then
generally for what were unquestionably important announcements, such as the
voting for the charter-writing members. It certainly hasn't been used for
purposes of general discussion. Nor do I think that it should begin to do so
now. As for people not using the Forums for discussion of matters of importance
-- in my opinion that is primarily *their* loss, not Citizendium's. The people
whose opinions and views most of us value will use the Forums. Hayford

Subject: [Citizendium-l] What Forums? These Forums

 >WHAT forums? tom Go here, and maybe join.... http://forum.citizendium.org/
We came under a major spam attack a couple of weeks ago and had to take
measures to prevents hundreds of spammer accounts from being automatically
created, so now when you register to become a Forum member, you will have to
fill out a simple little automated form that, in theory, prevents spammers from
joining. You will then be approved for membership by a Constable, probably
me.... Once you're a member and have browsed through some of the threads, you
can then click the little blue line in the upper left that reads, "Show unread
posts since last visit" -- that will then show you only the *new* messages that
have been posted since your last visit. Best, Hayford > >In a message

Hi Irma, Go here, and you'll be able to join. http://forum.citizendium.org/ Are
you a member of Citizendium? You can join the Forums as either a Member or a
non-Member, but it's easier to participate as a Member. If not, why not join
Citizendium? It's easy to do, and I'm the Constable who will approve your
request. To join CZ, just go here and go through the process:
http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/Welcome_to_Citizendium (Click on the word
Register on the left-hand side of the page.) We came under a major spam attack
