Forums work well for some things, not so well for others.

Well, I'm not talking about forums in *general*, I'm talking about the CZ Forums, which are specific only to us. How anyone could call them difficult to understand and use is beyond me -- I'm about as technically oriented as your average caveman and after spending about 30 seconds in them several years ago I think I had a pretty good idea of how they ran and what they are used for. If *I* can use them, surely everyone else in the world can!

A few quick thoughts:

The Forum is more convenient, I think.
It is easier to browse and has more structure.
Moreover, the Forum is also read by Guests.

Occasional use of a mailing list may help to remind inactive Citizens,
but it should be restricted to announcements.
(Otherwise many will unsubscribe, I suspect.)

The problem with discussions that start on talk pages
(unintentionally, or because one party declines to go to the forum)
would not be solved.
