Key Responsibilities
Writing Enterprise-Level deployment scripts to move releases into Websphere
Application Server and/or Websphere Message Broker (emphasis on WAS)
· Designing and Coding Enterprise-Level Java Services in Websphere
Application Server
· Understands Large Distributed System characteristics - aka has the
ability to understand how an enterprise service they are designing and/or
coding fits into the larger picture
· Understands Rule Engines and how/when they are used in Large
Distributed Systems
· Senior Java Developer of Enterprise-Level Java Services
· Writing Enterprise-Level "Build/Package" scripts for Websphere
Application Server and/or Websphere Message Broker (emphasis on WAS)
Responsibilities
· Demonstrable ability to design and manage the integration of multiple
software and hardware components across multiple domains into a cohesive and
functional system aligned with Travelport's SOA (Service Oriented Architecture).
· Research and apply new hardware and software technologies to reduce
corporate costs and improve productivity and reliability
· Provide and document alignment with strategic technology direction of
Service Oriented Architecture
Qualification
· Excellent problem solving/analytical skills
· Effective written and communication skills
· Excellent and Proven System and Technology troubleshooting skills.
· Excellent ability to mentor junior resources in technical and
leadership skills.
· 8+ years of experience with enterprise web services systems (strong
Java/XML/WSDL/HTTP SOAP knowledge).
· 7+ years of hands-on experience with these technologies and
frameworks: Java SE (Expert Level), SOA, Apache Use and Support, Tomcat Use
and Support, SOAP, LDAP Communications, XML, XSD Design, Continuous
Integration Tools, Source Control Tools, SQL, JMS, Object Oriented Design, UML.
· 5+ years of hands-on experience in supporting commercial, high
transaction rate systems.
· 3+ years of hands-on experience with these technologies and frameworks:
Maven, Linux (desktop and server), Linux scripting (BASH, Perl, AWK, etc.),
CRON, JBoss, ANT, Spring Framework
· Excellent understanding of enterprise architectures
· Understanding of security techniques including authentication,
authorization and cryptography.
· Understanding of networking connectivity is essential, including TCP/IP
