Yes, it would be nice to have the application just send out an email
when a ticket is created and/or updated so users know that they need to
log into the application for review. I was going to try to write
something in python that could be run as a cron job and would poll the
sql database every 5 minutes, but my programming skills are rather
rudimentary.
