I know this is a long shot but has anybody heard of any Waldzither tradition outside the German speaking countries?
I have this prewar South-American Hohner catalogue in front of me now and it lists no less than 6 Waldzither models plus strings and parts for the instrument - totalling almost a full page dedicated to it! I know Hohner is a German company but this is obviously not just a translation of their home market catalogue. The Waldzithers would not have been included unless they were actually selling them down over there. Frank Nordberg http://www.musicaviva.com P.S. Could anybody imagine a Hohner main ctalogue without a single harmonica or accordion? ;-) To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
