Bear in mind that the argentina course was not the lowest in pitch in
Virchi's tuning.  However the name may well have been carried over from the
earlier hexachord tuning.

22/24 carat gold is soft.  My limited experience of 9 carat gold for
enamelling suggests that it would be very adequate.  Martina will know best!
