Well, it is indeed quite obvious and that's why I did it like this in the first place. I would imagine the 9th course (C or D, whichever it was) would hardly be fingered, if not at all, beyond the 2nd fret.

No, I didn't. I might try this later if I manage to print fretboard layout from the PDF file of the Palmer plan.
