That is an excellent question. Not that slanted or italic Chinese characters are very beautiful, but I myself wondered as well how to get slanted version automatically. I remember the option you could give in ttfonts.map. I'm afraid you will have to read the site that Werner gave you and start scripting yourself. :/ To get bold fonts the easy way, you need \CJKbold to make "poor man's bold" fonts. It will essentially copy the glyph several times over each other, each time putting it one dot on the right, one to the left, etc., to make the glyph bold. As you see, it works for most cases, but not if you enlarge it to huge sizes. I'm afraid you'll have to use another font to get this right. In c70sunext.fd, you should have the following lines: \DeclareFontShape{C70}{sunext}{m}{n}{<-> CJK * sunext}{} \DeclareFontShape{C70}{sunext}{bx}{n}{<-> CJKb * sunext}{\CJKbold} {m} is medium weight, {bx} is bold extended. {b} is bold, {bc} is bold condensed, etc. {n} is normal. {it} is italics, {sl} is slanted. Check the documents in texdoc for more information. You can make additional lines for other forms.
