Hello,

I have been looking for about 6 months for a way to obtain half-width
katakana in LaTeX while using the package CJKutf8. I've read through
the CJK documentation files on CTAN, and some TUGBoat articles on the
structure of the CJK package.

Unfortunately, previously even when I had a font supporting this in my
Emacs (with UTF8 encoding), the characters were not output by LaTeX,
and I have not managed to discover what possibly different font and
encoding I should use instead of the usual (taken from the example
CJKutf8.tex) settings.

Is half-width katakana supported, and if so where can I find
documentation on this?

Many thanks in advance,
