Dear list,

In Chinese transliteration there is usually a bold (elevated) dot placed
between the first and second name of a Western name. For example: 亚当·
斯密(Adam Smith).
I am at a loss as to how to produce such a dot with LaTeX. How do you do
that? Also, is there a way to directly input this dot through an IME
such as scim or IBus?

Any suggestions would be greatly welcome!

David
