Flaxen Phoenix for the B & T
- the tan markings on the early black spaniels were called "fire marks" -
which description I love! There is a marvellous painting by Derek Soutar
of his two black and tans, Jacob and Reuben, and they really do have fire
marks..<http://homepages.which.net/~soutar/newpage2.htm>
Phoenix definitely says black and red to me, but I think any firey name
would be very apt... I really enjoy these name games :-)
and for the Rubies:
Flaxen Flame
Flaxen Flambeau
Flaxen Firedancer
Flaxen Firebird
Flaxen Fireworks
Flaxen Firecracker
Are they boys or girls?
My little red Russie is sitting here with me complaining bitterly and
vocally because I am paying more attention to the dread computer than to
him! I spent hours and days looking for "red" names for him and Rowan and
then trying to match them to photos of their tiny puppy faces so that they
had their names when we finally took them home.
