Do any of you out there use this method of hip evaluation. If so, why did you
choose it over OFA? I have been to the website, it keeps saying how it is a "far
superior method of testing" but does not exactly explain why. My vet. seems to think
it is wonderful, but I would really like your opinions before I choose. Do any of you
do both?
One advantage I could see was that ALL the xrays are submitted to the database, so
I expect that you would come up with a far truer breed status. Quite often what has
happened is, breeders have the hips xrayed and if they do not look good, will not
submit them to the scheme. So you would end up with an false "breed average".
Another point was that it can be done at a much earlier age. Why would you choose
to do this before the dog is fully mature? unless of course you were to repeat it at
a later date.
Any input on this would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
