I just spoke with Tammy Moyers at the University of Tenn. in Knoxville. She
said they need 30 more Cavaliers to finish the platelet study and asked me
to get the word out. You only have to bring in your dog one time and they
will give it a heart exam with Dr. Gumpf. You must tell Tammy that you want
the heart certificate or they will just listen to the heart otherwise. There
is no charge for the physical or heart exam. Apparently there is a
connection between heart problems and the platelet count. The number you
need to call is (865) 974-8387 and ask for Tammy Moyers.
