PennHIP uses a score of 0 to 1 for each hip.  0 being perfect (of which no
dog is) and 1 meaning the femoral head is totally out of the acetabulem.  I
have no idea how this compares to the AVA scores in Australia.

So far with almost 80 Cavaliers done in the U.S., the average rating is
point 57 (.57) (or the femoral head is more than half way out of the
acetabulem in the majority of dogs in a hip extended view using a special
machine).   This is somewhat lower than the average for all breeds.
