Thinking way back, to when I was showing my Weimaraners, I had a few
embarrassing moments. The biggest was running into a tree in the ring in a
show in CA. After it happened, I thought about how focused I was on winning,
and I didn't notice the tree! I feel totally different now, with another
breed. I really enjoy showing and breeding, but it isn't the end all as it
once was. If I can brag a little, I bred the number one bitch in the
country and the number two stud dog. I feel no compunction to do the same
again, even though I came close with Peaches, without going to many CKCSC
shows.
Speaking of embarrassing, I remember being embarrassed myself, while
watching a "show" in the afghan ring. A very shapely young woman was
showing her dog, while wearing a wrap skirt. Lo and behold, there was
NOTHING underneath. Quite a spectacle, indeed!!
Thank heavens for our lovely venues with CKCSC, and only showing in hotel
ballrooms. We are SO fortunate!
