Ohhh, I remember that we had one or two of the reusable ones like you are
talking about. Yes, I can see that they would be perfect for the type of
whelping box that you use.
These permanent type pads were not feasible for using for Lucy when the
disposables were available and needed no washing, just roll up the mess and
throw away. We washed up our share of dirty hospital gowns and cloth diapers
for Lucy, didn't need any extras if there was a disposable product
available. BTW Lucy was my mother-in-law who lived with us for 13 years
until she passed away on Father's Day of 2000 at age 92. We turned into a
hospital/nursing home here for her care.
