The President of AKC is scheduled to speak on the rules and regulations
of AKC.
Do any of you KNOW the number of puppy mills and "backyard breeders"
that AKC suspends and/or is instrumental in shutting down each year? It
is in the thousands. Do any of you understand that puppy mills have
left the AKC registry in droves and started (or joined) their own pet
registry, when AKC implemented their Frequently Used Sire Program and
other programs that made it tougher for puppy mills to comply with AKC
Rules and Regulations.
The other thing I always wonder about when a thread like this comes up -
and it HAS come up before - is: WHAT ARE YOU DOING, personally, to
eliminate puppy mills? How many of you are working in your areas,
cities, counties, states, to help eliminate these bad places for dogs?
Or do you just talk about it, without any real knowledge, on this list.
Are any of you interested enough to actually go out and DO something?
Or do you feel that your part is done when you post your objections to
this list?
