Hi Joanne,

This is just a thought...has your vet checked or xray'd her lungs?  Is is
possible that she could have aspirated some of that leaf into her lungs?  I
had a friend once whose son aspirated a small piece of a peanut into his
lungs unknowingly.  He had chronic infections and came very close to death
until they found this little piece of peanut logged in his lungs,
completely infected.  Once the peanut was removed, his recovery was dramatic.
