I could not find an official ruling on your question as Awards of Merit are
not an official class. However unlike the CKCSCUSA where the reserve winner
can compete for Reserve BISS in Canada if a dog is defeated at any level it
can not compete for further awards. I suppose that is why the Clubs have not
requested the res winners return for Awards of Merit. Believe me as the
handler of the reserve winners dog I would have gladly returned to the ring
to compete for an award of merit!
You may mention your query to the Club when you submit your critique.
Hope the trip home was uneventful and you thouroughly enjoyed your brief
trip to Canada.
