Jan is absolutely correct--it is tremendous fun to watch the wildlife shows. There
are also dog shows on
TV and many movies, with wonderful coverage of canines and other animals...
I've always thought that what we saw on the televised dog shows here had a lot to do
with where the
cameraman was stationed. (more than one, actually)--the cameras do distort a lot of
what we see.
But the wildlife shows, and the movies like Never Cry Wolf and Dances With Wolves
are a riot. We dog people are always going on and on about shoulder layback and
cutback of upper arm, and
about cowhocks and rear angulation....well, lots of the wolves
have no angles to speak of, and they are doing just fine. They have really big teeth,
too!
And most aren't fat...the natural diet must work, as their big teeth are clean, and
there's no excess
flesh. Of course, we want a little more flesh on our showdogs than on the wolves,
but it is very entertaining to watch some of them and try to get a look at their
structure, etc.
