I couldn't agree more with what you observed about wolves. We have a wolf preserve near by and I've visited several times. Another observation I have made is that, perhaps we do not know what it takes to be a strong canine who hunts by sight and can take on rather large game. as well as gallop at around 35 mph. Their shoulders are rather steep, their fronts toe out slightly and are fairly narrow. They can trot for many miles and still have the strength to sprint when necessary ... and their eyes are yellow. Hmmmmmm? Food for thought.
