I think that this form of evaluation makes it abundantly clear what the judge likes or does not like about each of the exhibits, as well as reasons for relative placement. It could do much to put emphasis on judges' knowledge of the standard, as well as to eliminate suspicion of favouring certain exhibitors or handlers. The audience would also get more out of it - ie potential dog owners/show-ers. For persons unfamiliar with what showing is all about, a dog show does not have much meaning other than to see dogs - not possible to learn much from just observing a few minutes of dogs going around the ring, if there is not explanation as to what judge is looking for. Also, exhibitors are very often not interested in spending time (if they have it) talking to potential owners when there are other exhibitors to discuss things with, and times to keep track of, and dogs to feed, exercise, etc. I vote for petitioning kennel clubs in our countries to use this method - Sandy
