Re: "It was announced several days ago, but I'm just now deciding that I'm not disappointed, but rather that I'm angry about it! Okay, yes, we need to concern ourselves over the safety and well-being of our postal workers, and ESPECIALLY our armed services and fire/policement, but puh-leeeze, must we just roll up in a full fetal position and allow the terrorists to completely ruin our freedoms and passions?..."
Hi Sandra, I understand your passion and I am as passionately dedicated to attempting Life as Usual, HOWEVER, as I think about this specific situation I can imagine the following: IF this bioterrorist action is initiated by those supporting Bin Laden (since there is also speculation that it may be internal) THEN hundreds of letters to servicemen and women participating in the attack on Afghanistan from persons unknown to those recipients could be a handy method to spread infection to the troops. While anthrax is treatable, other potential agents are less controllable. I would be less concerned for the postal workers in this scenario and more concerned for our armed forces.
