It is very easy to see whether any kind of behavior in dogs is of a neurological (seizure) type or truly behavior. If you start a dog on phenobarbital, the behavior will cease or be dramatically reduced if it is a seizure type of activity. If the dog continues with this behavior, there will be no change. Just for your info - dogs that chase their tails -- if they chase their tails only one way, it is usually neurological in nature. If they chase their tails first one way and then the other, they are just amusing themselves - often they are bored with life! Anne
