<< although what works for one might not work for the other. >> I guess that is true with many things. The answer just might be to try them both, but since I just use it as an overall supplement with most of my dogs, (not the young ones) I am not treating an ailment so I have nothing to take notice of. None of my dogs have arthritis (had the 3 oldest checked and certified in writing by a vet chiropractor) but my Oliver did have back problems. I put them all on glucosamine and chondroitin about a year ago and the difference in Oliver is phenomenal. In spite of my old vet saying that Oliver "probably" had a problem with the nerves in his back, Dr. Sue Ann Lesser said there was nothing wrong with his back and it was his leg muscles that were weak from his being a couch potato. His excercise routine has not increased too much, but he is 80% better and no more back problems. He moves very well and now runs and jumps on and off furniture and the window seat in my kitchen. I guess I will try glyco-flex, but may alternate with glucosamine and chondroitin with MSM (had not used that before) just to be safe.
