I agree it would be worthwhile for anyone who gets a call from someone trying to sell puppies to talk to them about the reasons not to do this. Once in awhile you get lucky and talk to someone who can be educated.
I ran into some people at a microchip clinic over the weekend who had two 4 month old Aussie pups same age as mine. The are all set to breed-going on and on about it-not doing hips as they were assured several generations back are good. Unfortunately, I have a friend who got a dog from the same kennel and had to euthanise her at 9 months for severe hip dysplasia. What I am getting at, I did not jump all over them, I was nice and they asked for my card which I gladly gave. I hope they call and come and visit me and my dogs and with any luck they will get educated. It is so important not to distance people you might be able to help-and ultimately help the dogs!
