I agree the cards and ad in the paper will help. But none of these websites will. The majority of the people I talk to that are the type that would buy from anybody *skip* over these websites because they are too daunting--way too much information that most of these people don't know what to do with. The websites that they do visit and use are the really simple ones--like the ones the importers use! Note many will do lots of research and carefully cover all the websites they can find--no matter how complex, but not the majority--especially the type of people we are trying to reach! The people who WILL go to the AKC site, the club sites, etc. are the same ones who end up buying from reputable breeders anyway. They have some understanding that a purebred puppy should be purchased from a reputable breeder. These are not the people we are trying to reach! We need to gear the new website to the types of people we DO want to reach! We need a special website done by someone. Something quite simple but to the point. Extremely user friendly. NO mention of clubs because many of the presently unreachable/unconverted people just plain think *clubs* are for *show* people, not pet people. The site should be geared completely, totally, and simply towards purchasing a Cavalier PET and written in such a way that the average person who buys their dog through a newspaper will be *pulled into* this new way of thinking, almost without realizing it. If someone would do a site like this, everyone could put that site in their ads or on their cards. The next step would be to have a phone number in each area, or at least an 800 number to call. And people who want to talk on the phone all day! I don't know how that would be feasible because I'm sure it would be just like a job and most would want to get paid for doing that job. But again, lots of these people don't have internet access, so a website would not help them. This step will be a long way off.
